Just installed this and have a few queries.

I created a link to the component (testimonials layout) in joomla 1.5.7.

Now if i go to the menu link it gives me an empty testimonial box to complete, even though I have not been sent an email requesting a testimonial.

In fact if I create a new user that has not even purchased anything they are alos requested to write a testimonial. Am I missing something here ?

I was expecting to see a testimonial that I had created and published with another test user.

I can see the testionial that I published in the module, but there is no listing when I click the link to the component.

One other thing in settings - 'sent reminder' options are yes or no, what does this do and what should it be on ?


I'm using component version 1.2.

sent reminder sends the message people can click on to write the testimonial.

you have to carefully set the settings otherwise it will happen like you say (everyone can write testimonials..)

I think I'm almost there now... but... and there is always one.

I now see the testimonial I write but directly under that I also get the add testimonial box.

There are very few settings in the admin area so I don't think I've missed anything.. they are:

General Settings:

Status : Shipping
Number of testimonials: 25

Reminder Settings:

Sent reminder: yes
after how many days: 3
no reminder if order is older than: 60
order status: shipped

Mail settings:

subject: anything here
from address: my email address


So not sure why the testimonial box is showing. Is this normal ? Should this only display if the user has placed an order ? Or will this display regardless if a registered user has purchased anything or not ?


Couple of things -

When do the orders appear in the orders sent menu choice in admin ?

Lastly how can I change the display order of the testimonials so that the latest one shows on top ?

testimonial box is showing when a user is logged in who is allowed to write a feedback: thus he has a shipped order in his account.

second question: orders appear when reminders are sent, these are sent 3 days after order is sent.

last question: sorting can be changed in PRO version.

Ok I think there is a bug then in the software.

I just created a new user who has not purchased anything as a regular registered user. Anyway if I use the menu link to the component I can leave a testimonial.

Is this the first time this has happened ?


Where is the PRO version ?

if that is the case you have made that possible in the settings....

PRO version will be released later this year.
