mails are sent after x days (x is to be entered in preferences). when the day is reached, the mail sending will commence when someone enters the testimonial component. Either front or backend.

OK I entered the number of days and the Orders section indicates that mails went out. But actually they did not. My Joomla is set up to send out mail using SMTP and all the usual order status change mails are going out with no problems. I am using Joomla 1.0.15 and Virtuemart ver 1.0.15. Any suggestions? Thanks in Advance A

Was my problem also. In the new version VM the component is working fine.
At a few weeks i will go to VM 1.1 and than i will going to use the component.

I have the same problem. I have the lasts versions of joomla and virtuemart. I have the module published on frontend, but the component only sends emails when I enter into testimonials on backend. Any ideas?

the component is written that way that the mails will be send out after x days and then on that day whoever enters either the frontend or backend of the component. This way you dont need an cron.... So....if you have users, it will work perfectly....but if you are testing you must trigger it yourself by visiting front or backend.
